Santa’s little elf

My favorite part of the Christmas season is giving gifts, but more than that, I really love random acts of giving.  My thing this year was to go to the Walnut Creek Baking Company and buy some cakes.  This morning I got there early before work and bought a chocolate cake with raspberry filling to give to some friends.  I kept it in the refrigerator and then dropped it off on the way home from work.  John was like, “What’s this for?”  and I was like, “It’s Christmas!”  No reason necessary!  Also I ordered a cake and a tart that I will pick up Thursday and take deliver to some other friends.  I think I will add a cheesecake for someone else I’m thinking of.  I’m totally TORN about the lemon meringue tart, because I will be so tempted to keep it for myself!  This bakery makes absolutely the best lemon meringue.  Maybe I’ll get a small one for myself sometime.  But this week is all about the giving.
